Preparation for case 14
- Find out all causes for patient collapse when there is no known history of trauma
- review knowledge of lateral views of the brain showing the major gyri and sulci
- Review circle of willis
Learning outcomes
- identify in writing the different pathological causes of stroke haemorrhage thrombotic and embolic infarction
- recognise that the cause of the stroke determines the management
- be able to interpret radiographic images of the brain based on an understanding of its sectional anatomy and the characteristics of the major types of imaging used for the brain
- develop an awareness of the abilities of other health professionals contributions especially in relation to managing patients with stroke
- develop an appreciation of the physical emotional and social challanges that people face who have suffered a stroke
