Defined as:
The fear of being in a situation where the sufferer cannot receive help, or escape from judgement surrounding potentially embarrassing symptoms. For example doesnt want to be in a line or crowd by themselves.
diagnosis a. marked fear or anxiety of tow or more of the following
- using public transport
- being in open places
- being in enclosed places
- standing in line or being in a crowd
- being outside of home alone b. fears or avoid situation due to inability to escape or help not available c. almost alwats provoke fear e. out of proportion of actual danger involved f. persistant g. significant distress or impairment h. not better explained by another disorder or illness
Other factors:
anxiety generalised they feel like they cannot travel further than a certain distance comorbid with panic disorder
